PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Techsys created the concept of the "Bride of Month" where brides are able to show pictures of themselves on their special day. Brides were able to upload 5 photos and send them on to their friends or post to Facebook with the intention of getting them to vote for them. On offer, the bride with the most votes every month won a R4000 @home gift voucher.

The main idea behind the site was to get customers interacting with the brand and to encourage other people to visit the site. The viral elements of the “send to a friend” and “post to Facebook” options were vital in creating momentum and awareness of the site.

The site was launched through a number a different new media channels. Adverts were put on Facebook and Google; an email drop to the database was done and the @home Facebook page was utilised as a third advertising channel. As a result, the campaign successfully achieved its objectives of gaining exposure and engaging with its customers in a fun and interactive manner.

A large number of brides entered for the competition. The results and feedback were so positive a sister site “Photographer of the Month” was created to allow photographers a chance to promote themselves and gain exposure in the wedding sector. The popularity of “Bride of the Month” has resulted in a redesign of the site which is currently under development.
