Techsys for the first time ran the Face of Markham competition in 2009 which became an instant success. For 2010 Markham wanted to launch another edition including bigger and better prizes with more tightly integrated social media interaction through Facebook.
Some of the interesting features of the site were to allow voters to make comments from their Facebook profile in a comments section under each profile. The entrant also had the ability to promote their profile by sharing it to their Facebook profile creating awareness and to try and win votes through their friend networks.
Impressively, during the course of the 2010 campaign the site received over 200,000 visitors and nearly 1 million page views. An astonishing result considering the 35 day duration over which the campaign ran!
