Heineken Namibia approached Techsys Digital to help boost sales volumes during the 2014/15 UEFA Championship League season. For many Namibians, football is a way of life. The Champions League is at the pinnacle of their passion and our plan was to leverage that excitement and create customer engagement.
As a premium beer brand that appeals to a digitally savvy target market, we decided to design and develop a fully responsive mobile site that captured unique codes from on-con activation's went down a treat. It also meant customer engagement with the brand continued way past the bottle at the bar.
By engaging with the mobile site, consumers entered a competition to win a range of awesome prizes, including tickets for themselves and 3 friends to the screening of the UEFA Champions League final. An exclusive invite-only event where food, drinks and entertainment were included. Essentially, it was the next best thing to being at the actual match final.
To help drive sales even further, for every 4 Heineken's purchased, consumers received a scratch card where they could instantly win branded caps, hoodies, stadium jackets and free beer!
